DIRECTOR - PRIVATE CLOUD

We are seeking an experienced Director, Private Cloud to lead our private cloud computing infrastructure team. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, designing, installing, managing, maintaining, monitoring, and supporting our private cloud infrastructure. This includes a strong focus on automation, monitoring, and continuous learning and improvement. The Director, Private Cloud will serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) to our System Engineers and will be responsible for fostering a culture of cross-training and voluntary knowledge transfer.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership and Team Management:

• Lead and manage the private cloud team, providing guidance, mentorship, and hands-on support to ensure operational excellence, high availability, performance, in a 24x7x365 environment.
• Foster an environment of continuous learning and improvement, encouraging team members to deepen their understanding of underlying technologies and to innovate in automation and cloud service delivery.

Technical Expertise and Innovation:

• Champion the design, provisioning, and administration of cloud solutions, emphasizing expertise in VMware vSphere, VVF, and VCF, alongside robust automation practices.
• Engage with cross-functional teams to leverage technical expertise and drive the collaborative development and optimization of cloud solutions.

Documentation and Standardization:

• Oversee the documentation and standardization of technical procedures, ensuring they are current, comprehensive, and contribute to the achievement of operational excellence.
• Develop automation strategy

Automation Strategy and Vendor Management:

• Manage vendor relationships ensuring that service levels and vendor obligations are met.
• Holds vendors & partners accountable to SLA and contractual agreements.

Requirements:

Technical Qualifications:

• Strong and demonstrated aptitude for datacenter (compute, storage) infrastructure, VMware, Linux, and Windows implementation, administration, availability, and automation.
• Deep technical knowledge of Datacenter HA architecture, infrastructure, servers, storage, load balancers.
• Expert in Virtualization architecture and experience running large-scale distributed VMware VCP environments.
• Expert in Windows Server management, Active Directory domain.
• Experience in Automation with regards to hardware, virtualization, server.
• Experience with Powershell, Ansible, and Infrastructure as Code.

Soft Skills:

• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to triage technical issues and problems.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.

Industry Experience:

• Experience within the Gaming or Hospitality industries a plus.
