Overview

We are looking for a skilled and motivated Tax Accountant to join our corporate tax team. The successful candidate will be responsible for helping to prepare and file accurate federal, state, local and foreign tax returns, assisting with tax provisions, and supporting audits and compliance efforts. This is a great opportunity for someone with a strong foundation in accounting and a desire to deepen their expertise in corporate tax.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation and filing of federal, state, local and foreign income/franchise tax returns for corporate and partnership entities.
  • Assist with quarterly and annual income tax provisions (ASC 740), including journal entries and account reconciliations.
  • Support the preparation of tax workpapers, schedules, and disclosures.
  • Conduct basic tax research and assist in documenting findings.
  • Monitor and track estimated tax payments, extensions, and filing deadlines.
  • Respond to tax notices and support audits by gathering requested documentation and preparing responses.
  • Collaborate with accounting, finance, and legal teams to gather and analyze necessary data.
  • Stay up to date on relevant tax law changes and assess their impact on the company.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation within the tax function.
  • Perform other duties and assist with special projects as assigned.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
  • CPA or CPA eligible preferred.
  • 1–3 years of relevant experience in public accounting or corporate tax.
  • Solid understanding of U.S. federal and state tax regulations.
  • Experience with tax compliance software, a plus (e.g., OneSource, GoSystem, Corptax).
  • Strong PC skills: Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and online research tools
